Child Care Development Fund Program

Program Purpose:
To provide financial assistance to eligible Native American families to offset work or school related child care costs so families can work towards becoming self-sufficient.
To provide assistance to care providers to upgrade child care skills and provide a safe child care environment.

Description of Current Services:
The program provides financial assistance to eligible Native Americans families to offset work or school related child care costs. Assistance is also given to caregivers to upgrade child care skills to the point of certification and to provide any equipment to upgrade the home inspections.
The Klamath Tribes Community Services Department Child Care Program provides a maximum of 60-months cumulative child care payments for Native American children who meet program criteria. The child care program pays child care costs to eligible providers under a voucher, invoice, and reimbursement process.
The child care provider must pass a background check before they perform child care services.
