2020 Census Notice

Notice to all Klamath Tribal Members…

The 2020 Census is fast approaching.  The Klamath Tribes will soon be bringing you more information regarding this very important process.

Note: The upcoming census count is more important than ever, especially for Native peoples living in tribal communities who are historically under-counted. Hard-to-Count communities require additional in-person engagement to get them to take the Census and the #WeCountOregon campaign is leading a culturally responsive effort to ensure everyone is Counted.

Currently, Council Member-Willa Powless (Tribal Census Liaison), and News Dept. Manager-Taylor Tupper, will be attending training with all other Tribes in Oregon to gather information.

*This week, Census Liaisons, Community Organizers and Tribal Organizations from every tribe in Oregon will convene to meet, learn and inspire each other in preparation for the 2020 Census, This gathering (Oregon’s Tribal Census Summit) is generously hosted by The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians of Oregon, and is being organized in partnership with #WeCountOregon and the US Census Bureau.

In the near future you will see more information, a census committee will be formed, thousands of people will be hired across the nation (See job link below), and in early 2020 the Klamath Tribes Census 2020 Campaign will begin.
