There are a lot of myths around the COVID-19 vaccine. One that has been circulating around social media, is a concern that there has been a tracking technology implanted into the vaccine itself. This is absolutely NOT TRUE.
This myth came to be after there was talk about creating a barcode on the vaccine LABEL to help track the vaccines given, and make sure that it had not expired prior to administration, and link health care providers to information about giving the shot. The social media videos posted to “authenticate” these false claims were selective clips from interviews used out of context or without context, and do not apply to the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine offered at KTHFS contains:
· This is the messenger code that teaches your body how to identify the spike protein of COVID-19 virus.
· The lipids are what creates a bubble that carries the mRNA into the cells
· Salt Solution : Made of : Tromethamine, Sodium acetate, sucrose (sugar)
· The salt solution is used to make the vaccine solution more like the pH of our body
So, while some social media posts make it out to seem like the COVID-19 vaccine will be implanting recipients with microchips in a cyborg forming process – this is just not the case. At the end of the day, we will be a little bit stronger- we can protect ourselves and our community from COVID-19, but, there are no microchips involved in the process .
