In Loving Memory, Wendi Sue Decker

Wendi was the youngest daughter born to Everett Ray Decker and Loretta Mae Decker on July 11, 1966, in Klamath Falls, Oregon.  She passed on January 24, 2021 due to lengthy illness at Skylakes Hospital with family by her side.

She is an enrolled Modoc Tribal member and the descendent of Thomas Paul and Dora Chipps Decker, paternal grandparents Ernest Decker and Cecilia Jefferson Decker (Langell).  Also, descendants of Ezekiel Walkingstick and Florence Walkingstick of Stillwell Oklahoma, maternal grandparents, Orville Lee Glenn, and Madeline Lucille (Walkingstick) Glenn; of Stillwell Oklahoma and later Klamath Falls Oregon.

Wendi enjoyed family, friends, and most of all her grandchildren.  She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and swimming at Lake of the Woods.  Wendi was hired for one of the first Tribal Cemetery Clean-up crews as a teenager.  She enjoyed working outside and taking care of the cemeteries.  She worked for a very brief time answering telephones and filing for the ICWA department in the late 1980’s.

Wendi is survived by her daughter Megan Decker and son and daughter-in-law, Corey, and Amber Decker of Klamath Falls.  She has 3 grandchildren, Jevin Gutierrez, of Eugene Oregon, Ember and Keimoni Decker of Klamath Falls.

 Also, her sister and brother-in-law Brandi and Will Hatcher, Tammi Decker, of Klamath Falls, and a brother and sister-in-law Everett and Stephine Decker II of Salem Oregon. Nieces- Heather Snoozy, Heidi Snoozy, Shania Decker-Worley, Zoey Decker, and Mason Decker.

She was preceded in death by her parents Everett Ray Decker, Loretta Decker, paternal grandparents; Ernie and Cecilia (Langell) Decker, paternal great grandparents, Thomas, and Dora (Chipps) Decker, Maternal grandparents Orville and Madeline (Walkingstick) Glenn, and maternal great grandparents Florence (Dodgin) and Ezekiel Walkingstick.

Numerous family members and friends and her dog Sky.

Wendi knew no stranger; she opened her home up to anyone who needed help.
