In Loving Memory, Anna Marie Bennett

Klamath Tribal Member, Anna Marie Bennett (Annie), born Oct. 13, 1958, passed away Dec. 11, 2020 with her family by her side.

Annie was an incredibly special person who was highly intelligent. She started school early and was successful in all she did. She had an adventurer’s spirit; for example, rode horseback from Selah Washington to the Canadian border with her Grandmother Donas when she was about 10 years old – the youngest rider in the group.

In high school Annie was extremely popular and had lots of friends. She was crowned homecoming queen as a freshman at Chiloquin High School. After high school, Annie had several jobs including at the Organization of Forgotten Americans, Nancy’s Sportsman Cafe, and Western Log Homes. She had a variety of skills from waitressing to driving a forklift to bookkeeping.

After getting married to Jay Bennett, they owned and operated J&A transport. Her last job was for the Klamath Tribes, where she was the Roads Dept. Manager. She loved her job and due to her dedication received an award from the Bureau Of Indian Affairs for the best roads program in the Northwest.

Family was the most important thing to Annie. She was a one-of-a-kind person who helped people whenever she could. She is survived by her father Sidney Ridenour, sister Patti Jackson, sister and brother-in-law Donna Ridenour and David Rivard, sister and brothers-in-law Jeanna Ridenour and Arnie Crume, and brother and sister-in-law Sidney Ridenour Jr. and Kristi Long. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jayson and Andrea Bennett and her special granddaughter Carly Bennett; her nieces, Lacy, Cassie, Chelsea; and nephew Aaron Crume; special cousin Lennie Kaler, and numerous friends and other family. She is preceded in death by her mother Nancy Ridenour and her brother Daniel Ridenour.
