Nora Ellen (McAuliffe) Hawkins, 82, passed away on Sept. 4, 2016, at her residence in Dairy, Ore. Funeral services will be held in St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Bonanza, Ore., on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, beginning with recitation of the holy rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. O’He, grain and hay. She played a major role in the success of the operations in addition to the full-time responsibility of caring for five children, Diane Hammond-Baxter, Patricia Deter, Bruce Hawkins, Deborah Tyree and Kelly Hawkins. She was a member of the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church as well as being an elder of the Klamath Modoc Tribe. She loved being in the great outdoors, which included elk and deer hunting trips, camping and riding horses, and also cooking, painting and gardening. She loved her family, which included 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and was always available at a moment’s notice. Survivors include Richard H. Hawkins; daughter, Diane Hammond-Baxter of Hillsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Shawna Hawkins of Dairy; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Dan (Pete) Tyree; son, Kelly Hawkins of Dairy; sister and brother-in-law, Marie (Babe) Lyons and Rodney Lyons of Merrill; brother-in-law, James “Jim” Shuck of Klamath Falls; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John D McAuliffe and Marie McAuliffe; sisters, Ellen Steward and Joanna Shuck; brothers, John “Sonny” McAuliffe, Daniel Thomas McAuliffe and Jerry “Bubby” McAuliffe; and daughters, Patricia Deter and Angela Hawkins.
