Richard Lee Barney (1940 – 2015)
Richard Lee Barney, 75, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Bend, Ore., on Nov. 22, 2015, after a fight with cancer. He was born in Chiloquin on Sept. 16, 1940, to Levi and Nora Barney. He attended Chiloquin High School and Oregon Institute of Technology. He lived on the coast for many years and was a mill operator at Moore Lumber Company in Bandon. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing, team roping, beading and crafts, gambling and watching movies. He was preceded in death by wife, Jacqueline Barney, and father, Levi Barney. Surviving family include his mother, Nora Barney; partner, Judy Barney; aunt, Jenny Markley; brothers, James Barney and George Samson; children, Harold Barney, Richard Barney, Veronica Stanton, Norman Barney, Sydney McLeod and Brandon Barney; Judy’s son, Joe Barney; nieces, Jamie Parker, Jodie Barney-Pridemore, and Tiffani; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in Chiloquin Assembly of God, Chiloquin, OR 97624. A graveside service will follow at Wilson Cemetery.
