Today we are going to take a break from verbs and go on to nouns. The noun I want to discuss is one of the Klamath words for “child.” The noun is: “we-as.” One of several ways of indicating plural (more than one) in Klamath is a process called “reduplication.” In this process, the first syllable (first consonant and first vowel) of the word is repeated. So for this word we have: wewe-as. This means: “children.”
gi=is, was, were, are, am, have, had, get, got.
lap when used is lapni. It means two times.
So, putting it all together in a sentence we get: ni lapni wewe-as gi. I have two children.
