Reading Progress:

Word of the Day

Today we are going to look at the 3rd noun. It is made with the suffix: -otkis added to a verb. It has the meaning of a tool or instrument used to make the action of the verb happen.

This suffix does not make a noun. It makes of family of nouns because so many things can be used to make something happen. We will use the verb sle-a meaning to see.

Sleotkis is the noun. What kind of things are used to make seeing happen?

Right off the top of my head I can think of:

pair of glasses, binoculars, telescope, microscope, spyglass, magnifying sheet for elders to read with, a magnifying glass, rifle scope. I am sure there are more that help people to see.

In a sentence: gaw loloksgis sleotkis gi. My rifle has a sleotkis.
