August, 2020 marks the 34th Anniversary of Restoration for the Klamath Tribes
• PUBLIC LAW 99-398—AUGUST 27, 1986
To provide for the restoration of the Federal trust relationship with, and Federal services and assistance to, the Klamath Tribe of Indians and the individual members thereof consisting of the Klamath and Modoc Tribes and the Yahooskin Band of Snake Indians, and for other purposes.
In 1954, the Klamath Tribes were terminated from federal recognition as a tribe by an act of congress. … Despite this consistent official opposition from the Tribes and the BIA, congress adopted the Klamath Termination Act (P. L 587).
