Victor Leonardo Cruz of Klamath Falls, OR, passed away in Portland, OR on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017. He was born in Salem, OR on Jan. 5 1992 to Leta Unive and Margarito Cruz. A father, son, brother, cousin, uncle and nephew he brought smiles to many. His infectious positive attitude, smooth talk and charm will be missed by all. Self-titled “VTG” for Victor The Great, he enjoyed spending time with his son, visiting family, chilling with friends, eating at local spots, watching the Oakland Raiders, fishing local rivers, hiking and admiring himself in the mirror. While gone too soon, he lived life to the fullest every day and in every way.
A proud member of the Klamath Tribes, he is immediately survived by his son Landon, mother Leta Unive, brothers Mark, Cougar, sisters Shawnee and Monica, in addition to many uncles, aunts and cousins in Oregon and California. He is succeeded in death by his brother Kody Yellow Owl, uncle Arlen Kentta Sr., father Margarito Cruz and grandmother Barbara “Bunny” Unive.
Services will be held at the 9th Street Event Center, 829 Klamath Ave, on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 11:00 AM. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers and gifts, donations be made to the Victor L. Cruz Memorial Fund at any US Bank location. Donations will be used for his son Landon’s education.
