Good morning everyone!

I would like to examine this week the verbal suffix -la. Generally this suffix is used to mean gather or collect whatever noun you attach it to. The first example we will look at today is: wokasla-gather wokas.
Wokas was a main stay to the Klamath diet long ago. Near the year 1900, it was said that the Klamath marsh had 10,000 acres of wokas. Then the marsh was drained for pasture land.

dankni maqlaqs nalam wokasla. Our Ancestors gathered wokas.
