In keeping with the theme of the week, we will continue with making questions. Today we will make questions asking “why.” The structure we need to use is: “waq giok.” As a stand alone phrase, this can be used to ask: “Why?”
When asking a question using an existing sentence there is a special form we have to use.
ni yayna sle-a. I see the mountain. As a question, we place the subject of the sentence in between these two words.
waq ni giok yayna sle-a? Why do I see the mountain.
Again most of the time you will be asking another person so the completed question will include a change in the pronoun to reflect this change in subject.
waq i yayna sle-a? Why do you see the mountain?
