Raquel (Rachel) Ochoa was called home by her creator on November 4, 2023. Raquel leaves behind daughter Angela Ochoa; daughter and spouse Amber and Van Wilson; son Jesse Ochoa; grandchildren Thomas, Angela, Amanda, Dantae, Kelan, Sasha, Alethea, Vanessa, and Van Jr.; great-grandchildren Marilyn (MayMay), Julianna, Royce, Shadaysha, Eveleigh and brothers and spouses, John and Beverly Ochoa; Arthur and Debbie Ochoa. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Raquel is preceded in death by her mother, Myra Herkshan Ochoa; father, Manual M. Ochoa, sister Gloria Ochoa; brothers Martin Ochoa, Michael (Mickey)Ochoa, Manny Ochoa, Richard Ochoa; grandson Martin Richard Ochoa-Bettles.
Raquel’s love for her family was very apparent, as reflected in the numerous photos of her family in her home. These photos were a documented history of her life throughout the years. Her home was a haven for family and friends and was the center for all family celebrations.
Thirty years ago, Raquel made the decision to walk the red road, and she continued sobriety until her end. She practiced and was dedicated to spirituality and respected others’ choices. She loved to attend pow-wows; she even picked a stick to drum and sing.
Raquel began working for The Klamath Tribes in 1988 until her retirement in 2018. She was a dedicated employee, giving her all to her job and clients. Before working for The Klamath Tribes, Raquel worked at the Rogue Valley Manor in Medford, as well as other nursing homes in Medford and Vancouver, Washington.
A service will be held on November 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., in the Big Gym, 225 E. Schonchin St. Chiloquin, Oregon. A potluck lunch will be served at goos Olgi gowa 35601 Choke Cherry Way, Chiloquin, OR. Toni Sheppard is in charge of the kitchen. Call 541-363-3657 for questions.
