Opportunities For Employment
As one of the largest employers in the Klamath Basin, and growing, the Klamath Tribes
often have positions available as we add to our employee base. The role of a Tribal
Employee is to strive to serve in a manner that meets the mission of the Tribe. With this
responsibility in forefront, we are looking for individuals who want to serve with
compassion and a desire to make a difference. If you have the desire to serve, protect
and enhance our Tribe, we encourage you to apply for any open position that is of
interest to you. Watch our job site as we add positions on a regular basis.
Hiring Practices
Indian Preference:
The Klamath Tribes have an Indian Preference policy, as do most tribes. The Indian Preference policy allows hiring preference to Native Americans who meet the qualifications for the position. The policy does not mean that only Tribal Members will be hired. In fact, The Tribes employ many non-Indian employees.
Criminal background investigations:
Background investigations are required for some positions at Tribal Administration. Having a former criminal record may not keep you from applying for positions. Each position notes what type of background is required. The highest level is the P.L. 101-630 background which prohibits, persons
with 2 or more misdemeanor convictions and/or a felony conviction of a crime against persons to work in positions that have contact with children and/or elders. Positions that have access to confidential information or financial information require background investigations to determine suitability for employment. See Background and Character Investigation Policy.
Drug testing:
The Tribes have instituted drug testing for employees which provides for reasonable suspicion, post accident/injury/incident, random, and follow-up testing.
Employee Benefits:
The Klamath Tribes provides a very competitive employee benefit package which is available to all probationary, regular and seasonal employees. Click on the Employee Benefit Summary link below to see all employee benefits.
Applications and resumes are accepted for OPEN POSITIONS.
All applicants must submit a Klamath Tribes Administration Application for Employment with the
required support documentation listed on the job description to be considered for employment. Each Tribal position has a set step range, with opportunities for pay increases on an annual basis. Starting wage is generally no more than mid-range for the position and will be based on qualifications and program budgets.
