SALEM, Ore. Sept.25, 2026 — Klamath Tribes Police Officer Zak Jackson graduated Friday, Sept. 25, from Oregon’s Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Basic Police Class #465 after completing the 16-week Basic Police Academy.
Jackson will next attend the U.S. Indian Police Academy’s Basic Police Officer Bridge Training Program. The program is designed for officers who have already completed a recognized police officer training program and provides training in federal law, Indian Country criminal jurisdiction, the Fourth Amendment, use of force and other BIA-specific law enforcement requirements.
Following Bridge Training, Jackson will complete 16 weeks of field training with the Klamath Tribes Police Department.
Klamath Tribes Police Chief Jeff Lee, Law and Order Commission Chair Ben Klecker, Fish and Game Officer Chayse Miller and Klamath Tribes Police Department Administrative Assistant/Evidence Technician Andraya Fernandez joined Jackson in Salem for the graduation.
The Klamath Tribes congratulate Officer Jackson on completing this important step in his law enforcement training and service to the Klamath Tribes.
