Word of the Day

The last few days we have been talking about color and how to use it. There are a few more ways to use color.

We have talked about how to use just the word for color.

hot taktakli lacas gi. That house is red.

We have talked about using the suffix -tga which transforms a repeating adjective into a verb.

gos taktgi. The tree turned red.

Now we will talk about a way to talk about color in a way that is familiar to us.

We do this by adding a suffix to the repeating part of the adjective. Let’s use “blue” as the example. Blue is mecmecli. The repeating part of this adjective is “mec.” To this form we add the suffix -tkani.

hot mectkani laq gi. She has bluish hair.
