Reading Progress:

Word of the Day

We have gone through the first two noun types. All of these nouns are made from verbs and are made with suffixes. The 3rd noun is the tool or instrument used to do the verbal action. This suffix is: -otkis. This suffix is added to the end of the verb like all of the other suffixes.

Today we are going to use the verb: hemkanga which means to speak.

So, we have hemkanga + -otkis= hemkangotkis. This noun means any tool or instrument used to speak. An example could be a megaphone. Another example could be a microphone. The most common use for this word today is: telephone/cell phone.

Let’s put it in a sentence. I will use the simple sentence structure I showed the other day.

ni hemkangotkis gi. I have a cell phone.
