In Loving Memory, Edward Logan Case III

Edward Logan Case III, 1943-2014, was born at Klamath Agency, Oct. 6, 1943.  He was the great-grandson of Klamath Chief Lalo and son of Edward and Cassie Case.  He and his wife, Betty, were married for 50 years.  He attended Chiloquin High School and Oregon Institute of Technology, where he played a  year of football and basketball for the Owls.  He toured Asia with a traveling basketball team in his early years and is well known throughout Indian Country for playing in hundreds of tournaments for several years for the Sprague River Ducks.  His greatest love was his family and he loved watching all the games his kids and grand kids played in, whether basketball, football, baseball, volleyball, softball or track. He raised all of his children with sports in their blood. One of his other joys in life was giving the referees of Klamath County help during the many games he attended.  They are now free to make all the bad calls they want. He also was an avid hunter and loved getting his wood in early.

He worked in sawmills for 40 plus years, starting in a Chiloquin  mill on the green chain, then going to Thomas Lumber/Jeld-Wen company in Klamath Falls, where he retired.  He then went to work for Kla-Mo-Ya Casino for 8 years.

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Betty Case, children and grandchildren, Lori and Rob Mitchell and their children, Arthur, Cyrille and Rodney.  Ed and Torina Case and their children, Liston, Jen, Fallon, Kevin, Lavina Rose, Faryn and Roman Case.  Charlie and Betty Case and their children, Dani, Ty and Antone. Tori Scott and her children, Haley, Wesley, Tohtehl and Nekichwey.  Sisters, John and Jackie Galbreath, Cassie and John Law, Delores Case, Jesse and Gregory Aguilar.  Sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Duran and Billy and Glen FooSum.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and family.  Including an extremely large basketball family across Indian country, as well as all the kids he coached over the years.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Ed and Cassie Case; Aunt/Mother Lavina Smith; Grandma and Grandpa Rentz,  Grandson Garrick “GDubs” Scott; and Sister Phyllis Samson.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chiloquin Christian Center.  A concluding graveside service will be at Hill Cemetery and lunch will be served at the church.
