In Loving Memory, Nancy Marie Ridenour

Nancy Marie Ridenour, 77, Chiloquin, passed away May 14, 2015, with family by her side.  Nancy was born Feb. 19, 1938, at Klamath Indian Agency, OR., to Clarence and Irma Gentry.  She married Sidney Ridenour, her high school sweetheart, on Dec. 31. 1957.  Together, they had five children:  Anna, Donna, Jeanna, Sidney Jr. and Daniel.

Nancy graduated from OTI in 1957 with a degree in general office training.

She operated and managed Nancy’s Sportsman Café for many years.  She was also the head sawyer at Western Log Homes and later became the office manager.  She also worked as a VLT change person at Kla-Mo-Ya Casino where she made many friends and was lovingly given the nick-name “Sarge”.

Nancy loved her family,  they were the most important thing in her life.  She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Nancy faced her illness with courage and strength.  She met it head on, without ever shedding a tear.  Her strength and resolve was admired by all.  She is very loved and will be missed dearly.

Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Daniel; parents, Clarence and Irma Gentry; brothers, Gene, Donald, Addy and David Gentry; and their wives, Maryetta, Virginia and Barbara.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Sid; daughters, Anna, Donna, David, Jeanna and Arnie; son, Sidney Jr and Kristi; grandsons, Aaron Crume and Jayson Bennett; granddaughters, Lacey, Cassie and Chelsea Ridenour and their children; sisters, Patti Jackson and Ila and Irwin Miller; sister- in- law, Betty Gentry; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Chiloquin Christian Center, Chiloquin, OR., with Don Gentry officiating.  Burial will be at a later date.  Dinner will immediately follow the service at the Church.

Davenport’s Chapel of the Shepherd  is in charge of the arrangements.
