Invitation to Apply to Tribal Youth Resource Center (TYRC) Youth Ambassador Program

TYRC Youth Ambassadors2022 Cohort Application Open Now

The Tribal Youth Resource Center (TYRC) is excited to grow the current number of Youth Ambassadors. The 2022 application period is open through April 15, 2022. The Youth Ambassadors program embodies the mission of the TYRC:   “Enhancing the opportunities for Indigenous communities to expand their potential in protecting and nurturing their most sacred asset- their youth.”Who are the Youth Ambassadors?    Tribal Youth Resource Center Youth Ambassadors are active or want to be active in their tribal communities and are committed to enhancing the lived experiences of themselves and their peers. They represent the future generations.   This group of young Indigenous leaders are scholars, activists, athletes, tribal royalty, and culture keepers.   Their unique wisdom adds both depth and breadth to the work of the TYRC.   Youth Ambassadors are invited to connect with their Peer Ambassadors in bi-weekly meetings; share as thought partners for the planning and implementation of various TYRC-led trainings, activities, and events; and participate in invited activities of partner organizations.   All tribal youth ages 14-24 are invited to submit an application to serve as a TYRC Youth Ambassador. The application includes questions that are specific to the scope and purpose of the Youth Ambassadors. The TYRC anticipates an annual cohort of youth, with prior year cohorts serving as mentors to newly selected Youth Ambassadors. We encourage all Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Tribal Grantees to share this application and opportunity to serve with the youth that are involved in their programs.   Complete Application Here!
