We have had questions and now we will respond to questions.
I like to tell classes that there is no one word response to a question. Even in English it is helpful to repeat part of the question so that both parties of a conversation are aware what is being responded to. It can clear up misunderstandings and make the conversation more precise.
We will use my demonstration sentence, make a question and respond to it.
ni yayna sle-a. This is the sentence we will start off with.
ni yayna sle-a. dal i yayna sle-a? I see the mountain. Do you see the mountain?
This is a yes/no question so the response will include Yes or No. But we are not done with that.
ii, ni yayna sle-a. hot kes honksant gi. Yes, I see the mountain. It has snow on it.
