Word of the Day

The word today is a suffix used on nouns. The suffix is -la. This suffix is used mostly with reference to food. For example, the word for huckleberry is” iwam.” It can be attached here with the meaning of gathering or collecting huckleberries.

iwamla

ona sa iwamla. Yesterday they gathered huckleberries.

wokasla

gen waytas nad wokaslawapka. Today we will gather wokas.

Here you also see the future tense suffix -wapka. Since wokasla is now a verb, it can have verb suffixes placed upon it.

Another use is gesla

mbosant ni geslawapka. Tomorrow I will gather ipos.
